As a resident/fellow of JPS, you have Exclusive access to a Guaranteed Individual Disability Insurance program* through PRS and Ameritas.

Summary of Disability Insurance Plan

  • Specialty Specific, non-offsetting definition of coverage
  • FULL Mental Nervous protection to age 65 for ALL medical specialties (except as noted below**)
  • 90-day elimination period and payable to age 65
  • Permanent 25 % Discount
  • Fully portable
  • Ability to increase to $7,500 of coverage during training, and up to $15,000 after training with
    • No Medical Exam or Medical Records
  • Each resident is enrolled in a $1,000 per month individual disability policy at orientation
  • Policy is paid by employer during training

**Emergency Medicine and OB/GYN will be at 12 months per occurrence
**For those enrolling in July 2023 and beyond. Prior to that policy holders have a $1,250
