Disability Statistics
Number of individuals between 21 and 64, with a BA degree or higher, who reported a disability in 2011.1
The Approximate number of disabilities are caused by illnesses rather than accidents.2
Number of doctors, aged 21 to 64, that will incur a disability lasting longer than 90 days. Between the ages of 30 and 34, the length of disability goes up to an average of 78 months.3
The percent of individuals that say a disability (which prevents them from working) would likely be caused by a serious accident, when more than 90% of disabilities are actually caused by illness.4
